When the device encounters an error that suspends operation:
The status indicator light turns orange and starts flashing
The status description changes to Attention!
If you are in Mini View mode, Print Console automatically switches to the full view in Status mode
The Messages tab displays this icon:
The Messages tab is automatically selected, and displays the recovery message ID, description, and time
This may be an error that affects the entire device or only one component of the device.
If it affects the entire device, all operations are suspended until you resolve the problem.
If it affects only one component:
The media that have passed the problematic stage will continue through the device to the unloading stage.
Media that have not yet arrived at the problematic stage will continue going through stages until they arrive at the problematic stage.
At that point, all operations are suspended until you resolve the problem.
The recovery message will provide a description of the problem and brief recovery steps. If there is a more detailed troubleshooting topic available for the problem, you can click the Help icon at the bottom of the Messages tab to access it. The Help topics may include video clips, which you can use if your workstation is equipped with a media player.
If you are successful in resolving the problem:
The status indicator light changes back to green or flashing green
The status description changes to Ready or Working
The recovery message disappears from the Messages tab. You can review it later, however, in the Messages History tool if you have configured the tool to show recovery messages.
All suspended processes resume
If you cannot resolve the problem and need to report the problem to your service representative, be sure to include the recovery message ID number (#) and the Time that the error occurred.
