Command: laser

Description:

<laser cal>

Forces the laser to perform a super-calibration. The laser will be unavailable while this calibration is performed.

<laser version>

Queries the hardware and software version of the laser.

<laser power <mW>>

Changes the laser power setpoint to the power specified in milliwatts (sends "LPWR" to laser controller). Note that a reset or power cycle will not restore the old value. Once entered, the controller will begin to seek this new laser power.

<laser service>

Instructs the laser to enter service mode. To leave service mode, the laser power must be cycled either by reset or by cycling the recorder power.

Once the laser has been put into its service mode, laser command syntax changes to the following:

laser "<string>"|<code>

An arbitrary string can be sent to the laser controller by using the <string> option. Note that the string must be enclosed in double quotation marks. A single ASCII code can be sent to the controller using the <code> option. The <code> is an integer in the range 0 through 127.

Note: Access to the service mode requires a password, and only qualified personnel should attempt to use this mode. The password code is entered with the laser <code> command.

Applies To:

  • Green

Syntax:

laser cal | power <mW> | service
