The num_bays parameter is a legacy from the 3244 Platesetter. The Trendsetter Autoloader DOES use this parameter to tell the Allegro workstation to only display a single bay on the user interface. The bay 1 state variables are also used to store plate information received from the Allegro workstation during a LOAD BAY command.
