NVS Parameter: head bpmaxerr

Long Name:

us_maxerr

Applies to:

  • Thermal

  • Description:

Specifies the maximum percentage difference allowed between the stroke cal target light level and and the measured light level for any channel. If all differences are less than "bpmaxerr" percent then the stroke cal succeeds otherwise the error "Unable to balance stroke to better than head bpmaxerr percent" will be generated. All new heads are capable of balancing to within 3 percent. Raising "bpmaxerr" to 5% is usually okay on most media. Stroke cal noise is also very dependent on the beam pointing so it may be possible to improve the stroke cal by changing "bposn" if things have moved slightly in the head. When changing bposn try steps of about +/- 200.
