<ServiceInformation>
<DescriptionText><text>
The output device was unable to communicate with the chemical filter usage sensor
during initialization.

</ServiceInformation>
<OperatorAction>
<DescriptionText><text>
This can occur if there is no chemical filter installed, it is installed upside
down, the chemical filter usage sensor is not programmed, or the data cable is
disconnected. Check for these conditions and if you are unable to resolve the
problem, contact your local Customer Service Representative.

<Cause>
Cause 1: The chemical filter has been installed incorrectly or is not present.
Solution: Make sure that the chemical filter has been installed with the rubber gasket down
so it contacts the bottom of the pot. There should be a metal cylindrical guide installed first,
which helps to center the chemical filter in the pot ensuring that the device can read the
information on the filter via the I-button contact pins in the bottom of the pot.
Then a spacer rests on the chemical filter, and the particulate filter sits on top of the spacer.
It should sit square to the pot and the foam gasket should protrude about 1/4" above the rim.
Try rotating the chemical filter by 90 degrees if no communication can be established.
Reboot (turn off / on) the output device to continue.
</Cause>
<Cause>
Cause 2: The chemical filter usage sensor contains no information.
Solution: Replace the chemical filter then reboot the output device
Cause 3: The data cable has come unplugged from either the output device or the debris cabinet.
Solution: Check the data cable connections and reconnect as necessary. Reboot the output device (turn off / on) to continue.
</Cause>
<Cause>
Cause 4: The data cable to the UDRC-L electrical enclosure has come unplugged.
Solution: Unplug and reseat the cable connections on the LIONEL board in the UDRC-L electronics enclosure.
Reboot the output device (turn off / on) to continue.
</Cause>
<Cause>
Cause 5: On a Trendsetter with MPE, there may be an intermittent connection in the white wire
of 10-4567 / 10-3770 close to the TEE board. This is the wire that had a resistor removed when
the output device was upgraded to L-configuration.
Solution: Inspect the connection and service as necessary. See TS upgrade documentation for pictures / details.
</Cause>
<Cause>
Cause 6: The internal cable between the L-configuration electrical enclosure and the contacts for
the chemical filter has a problem.
Solution: Test for continuity between the chemical filter contact block center most pin and pin #17
on the female DB25 on the back of the cabinet. Then chemical filter contact block outer most pin and
pin #4 on the female DB25 on the back of the cabinet. If there is no continuity, remove the screen
and contact block in the bottom of the canister by removing the 3 M5 screws, vacuum line and disconnecting
the cables to the contact block. Test the contact block for continuity and then replace the necessary
component.
-In the unlikely event that that there is a problem with the internal cable that runs between the canister
and the DB25 on the back of the cabinet, complete disassembly of the machine is necessary to replace it.
The most likely problem with this cable is the connector at the canister end. Close inspection of the
connector and its possible replacement without the complete R&R of the cable could save some time.
Before you disassemble the machine flip it over and remove the internal electrical enclosure where
the main power goes in. One end of the cable terminates at the board. Unplug the cable and test it
again for continuity. If you still have a problem with the cable it's time to replace it (10-4940).
This should take less than 2 hr. and you will need some silicone to seal the bell mouth to the canister.
Reboot the output device to continue.
