UV-Sensitive Plates

Conventional plate exposure

Light-sensitive plates are used for non-digital, conventional workflow. To image them, a vacuum table, UV-light energy, and film are required. Film is attached on top of the plate by vacuum. The plate is then exposed to UV-light with the film functioning as a mask. Wherever light passes through the film an image appears on the plate. To use the plate, it has to be chemically processed.

These plates are sensitive to ultraviolet light and require yellow-safe light handling. Nevertheless, they have proven to be of high quality and reliability.
