Tfx Command
(requires ENG access)
foc mode [<focus mode>]

Variables focus mode Specifies the operating mode of the auto-focus system.

Description The focus mode sets the operating mode of the Auto-focus system. If the focus mode is not specified the current mode is displayed. The following are valid focus modes:

Mode 0: In focus mode 0 the focus system builds(learns) a lens position profile which minimizes the focus error over the imaging area of the media. This profile is updated during each rotation in order to track changes in the relative media position as head moves over the media.

Mode 1: In focus mode 1 only the final lens position control is enabled. Lens position is set using the FOC LPOS [<lens position>] command.

Mode 2: In focus mode 2 a PID controller is used to track the target media. In this mode the focus system is not synchronized to the drum rotation. This mode is normally only used during developement and is not recommended for use during normal imaging.

Notes For normal imaging, focus mode 0 is the only mode currently supported.
