All subsystems that return error codes must register a table of error codes with the corresponding error description. When the subsystem registers the table, the table of error codes is verified. Since error code registration is part of initialization, this error will indicate a firmware development error.

| Note that the table of error codes is verified as follows:
|
|
|
- The subsystem number corresponding to the error code must match the subsystem registering the table.
- The length of the error description ( including the null character ) is limited to eighty characters.
- The subsystem can define a maximum of one hundred error codes.
