| Due to limitations of the Thermal 1.0 / 1.7x interface, the number of error codes that can be returned to the host are limited. Enabling the error translation level for the system subsystem will display a more specific error.

- A combination of system parameters and / or NVS parameters is invalid ( i.e. surface reflectivity, receiver gain, etc ).
- Attempting to focus on the tape to an invalid configuration ( i.e. an invalid image size or subscan shift).
