| Selects the media index from 0 to 15.

The surface depth defined by the copy of the media parameters where the copy is selected by the media index. When the media is configured by the host in preparation for a plot, the surface depth is specified by this media parameter.

| Note that the thermal head does not access the surface depth; this field is used only by the host. This media parameter is defined by the thermal head because the surface depth is head-dependent.
