The thk_delay parameter is a repeating pixel delay that depends on the thickness of the media being imaged. The thk_delay parameter is the distance by which a given row of diodes will be delayed in half pixels.
| The thk_delay parameter is intended to compensate for the sawtooth effect, which is evident when imaging thick media. The sawtooth effect creates a repeating pattern for each column, so thk_delay is a repeating pixel delay of 4, where one pixel delay is applied across a whole row of diodes.
| A given thk_delay will be applied when imaging a media whose thickness is equal to the thickness value stored in the current thk index.
| The total pixel delay for a given diode will be equal to the sum of its thk_delay value and its individual pixel delay, set using the "diode pix_delay" parameter or the "ld <diode> <delay> delay" command.
