Thermal2 Command
ldd calibrate

Description The calibration algorithm calibrates the required laser current ( in amps ) for the desired laser power ( in watts ). The calibration will vary from head-to-head and will change over time.

The calibration algorithm collects six data points ( laser current and laser power ) by varying the laser current from 17 amps to the nominal laser current. The laser current is configured, the beam-pointing is allowed to settle and the resulting laser power is calculated using the beam-balance sensor. A linear-fit is then applied to the data points and the results are saved using the NVS parameter ldd currentfactor <index>.

Note that the laser current will always settle to the desired laser power regardless of the calibration. The calibration is intended to minimize the time required for settling and allow for field updates.
