EndlessBBSProfile.spt is used to measure the consistency of the beam profile. This script can help find intermittent bad pixels.

The script continually performs a BBS PROFILE and displays the information in the Splot graph window. Simple statistics are also performed on the data. The graph displays the first, most recent beam profile, maximum, minimum and average. The maximum, minimum and average are calculated for each pixel.

A dialog box is provided so that you can rescale the x-axis, issue a firmware command or quit. When quit is chosen, the most up to date graph and data are saved to the results folder.

Ideally, the EndlessBBSProfile graph file will look like Example Graph 1. The graphs should be reasonably consistent over time. If there is any drift, it should be small, and uniform across the swath.

This script is most useful to search for intermittently bad pixels. An example of an intermittently partially stuck off pixel is shown in Example Graph 2. The graph also shows a zoomed in view, so that it is clear which pixel is causing the problems.

Organization of EndlessBBSProfile_data.txt:

The EndlessBBSProfile_data.txt file contains six columns:

Example Graph 1. Good output from EndlessBBSProfile.spt.

Example Graph 2. Bad output from EndlessBBSProfile.spt, showing a partially stuck off pixel.
