FocusActLin.spt

Graphs | Data | Data Interpretation

This script graphs lens position versus focus actuator current. It is used to determine the range of motion of the actuator and to find the point of inflection for parameterization when calibrating the focus servo on a version B HC board. For version C and higher board sets, use the CurrentPing.spt and ForcePing.spt scripts to set up the focus servo parameters.

FocusActLin Graphs

FocCurVLPosn.ps: This graph shows actuator travel, in raw units (see <%= htmlCedirLinkAlternateTitle(20695, "Note 4") %> ) versus actuator current, in amps.

FocusActLin Data

There is one output file, FocusActLin_data.txt. This file contains three columns: index, lpos in raw units, and current, in Amps.

Interpretation of the Data

The range of lpos values should extend from between 1800 and 2000 at zero Amps, and below -1500 at 2A (except with version B board sets, where it may take almost 3A to travel below -1500). The graph should be a backwards “S” shape, with little space between the two lines on the graph. The first line on the graph represents increasing current and the second line represents decreasing current.
