The purpose of the script is to aid in correcting a swath boundary artifact that appears on integrating ( photo polymer) media caused by edge leakage. This leakage exposure results in dot gain three pixel widths on either side of the swath boundary.
The correction is to attenuate these edge pixels with scorr so that the total exposure; image plus leakage, matches the rest of the swath.
The script images sample plots with incrementing scorr so that the user can determine the correction required.
Before execution, load a plate. After the script is started, the user configures the series in six dialogue boxes. The options for the series are:
1. subscan shift
2. mainscan shift
3. starting scorr value
4. end scorr value
5. scorr increment
6. pattern number
After imaging, the script automatically unloads the plate and waits for the user to enter the number of the strip showing the best appearance. It then applies the values of the selected strip
A record of which scorr values were used with each strip is saved to a file in “results”.
