Thermal3 Parameter
med <media index> surfacevelocity

Variables media index Selects the media index from 0 to 63.

Description The surface velocity defined by the copy of the media parameters where the copy is selected by the media index. When the host spins the drum in preparation for a plot, the drum speed is specified by the surface velocity and the drum diameter.

Note that the exposure head does not access the surface velocity; this field is used only by the host. This media parameter is defined by the exposure head because the exposure ( determined by the combination of the laser power and the drum speed ) is head-dependent.

The NVS parameter med <media index> drumspeed is the original method used to define the drum speed. The NVS parameter med <media index> surfacevelocity is the preferred method used to define the drum speed. The surface velocity is independent of the drum diameter.
