Preps license problem with server-based Floating License Manager (FLIM)


Product		Preps^® 5.1, including standalone Preps as well as Preps that is integrated into another product

Operating system		Windows^®XP - SP2

Error		There is a problem with your license.

Cause		The Windows XP with service pack 2 update automatically adds new security settings for the Windows firewall.

Solution		The Windows firewall can be configured so that a network server is able to communicate with Preps 5.1 and activate the correct Preps license. To configure the firewall for Preps FLIM: 1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall. 2. On the General tab, ensure that On is selected and that the Don’t allow exceptions checkbox is cleared. 3. On the Exceptions tab, you need to add Preps to the list. Click Add Program. 4. From the Program Files\Creo\Preps5.1\Preps folder, select Preps51.exe and click OK. 5. Before exiting the Windows Firewall dialog box, confirm that Preps51.exe appears in the Exceptions tab and that its check box is selected.
