Possible problems when running Preps on Mac OS X 10.4

Product

Preps

Operating system

Mac OS X version 10.4 (Tiger)

Symptoms

After you upgrade your computer to Mac OS X 10.4 and insert your existing purple dongle, Preps fails to run.

Cause

The problem can be due to any of the following compatibility restrictions.

Mac OS X 10.4 is:

  • Not compatible with the purple Eve3 dongle.
  • Not compatible with any releases earlier than Preps 5.1.5.
  • Compatible with Preps 5.1.5 or later, and requires a blue iKey dongle

Solution

Your solution depends on whether you upgrade to Mac OS X 10.4:

  • If you upgrade to Mac OS X 10.4, you must run Preps 5.1.5 or later and insert a valid iKey dongle. Upgrades and dongle exchanges can be obtained via the Kodak online store.

  • If you stay with Mac OS X 10.3, you can keep your Eve3 dongle and optionally upgrade Preps to a current release. (Remember to exchange the dongle if you later decide to upgrade to 10.4.)
