There is no command available in the Web version of Synapse EyeMedia that enables you to download an element and automatically open the element in its native software. Instead, you must download the element to your desktop. Once you have downloaded the element, you can double-click it to open it in its native software.
Select the element that you want to open and then select Actions > View Original with.
Depending on the type of file selected and the software that is installed on the workstation, the menu item will appear either as View Original with > Preview or View Original with > [software name]. (For example, if you want to open a QuarkXPress file and QuarkXPress is installed on the workstation, the menu item will appear as View Original with > QuarkXPress.) Select the available menu item.
When you open an element in its native software, Synapse Desktop actually downloads the element first. A progress bar in the Uploads & Downloads dialog box indicates the download progress.
Once downloaded, the element is automatically opened in either its native software (if available), or in the Macintosh viewer.
