Error Number: 17696

Error Message:

HEAD: Stroke Clock fault (bipolar)

Applies to:

  • Thermal

Service Information:

The stroke clock frequency is too low or the stroke clock is not present.

This error code applies to Thermal Head firmware versions 1.21 to 1.32.

Thermal: LV Positive 12V fault (bipolar). Only for bipolar LV driver boards which never shipped so this error should never occur.

Operator Action:

Call service.

Cause:

  • The drum speed is extremely low resulting in a stroke clock frequency that is insufficient for the bipolar LVD board. Try increasing the drum speed.
  • The bipolar LVD board requires the STROKE CLOCK signal from the MPE. This signal is in the DB9 connector between the MPE backplane and the head. If this signal is not detected, this error will be generated.
