NVS Parameter: al nte

Long Name:

no_te_sensor

Applies to:

  • Platesetter_3244

  • Description:

Disables checking of the trailing edge actuator position sensor. These sensors are on the backbone (not on the cylinder) and indicate TEC lowered or raised.

    • ntl = 0 enables checking of sensor.
    • ntl = 1 disables checking of sensor.

    Type:

    integer

    Default:

    • 0

    Range:

    • 0 to 1

    Notes:

Disabling this sensor is dangerous as the trailing edge actuator could be in the no-fly zone of the drum and the firmware will not check it, before attempting to spin the drum.

When the sensors are disabled (nte=1) then the firmware defaults to delay of (te_delay) milliseconds before it assumes the cylinder moved as directed. When enabled (nte=0) the same amount of time is allowed for the appropriate sensor to be detected before a timeout error is generated.

    • On TEC lower command, timeout occurs if firmware failed to sense TEC Lowered OR if it still senses TEC Raised; UNLESS al bad_te_sensor is set manually, in which case only TEC Lowered is checked. Also vica versa if TEC raise command.
