NVS Parameter: media slf

Long Name:

stray_light_fogging

Applies to:

  • Trendsetter_NEWS

  • Description:

For integrating media such as the T96-3 plate, special care must be taken to avoid image artifacts. Stray light from the light valve will expose the plate in a very short amount of time. Specifically, two changes have been made:

    • if the job is cancelled any time after the focus learn starts, the plate is considered a reject. This is because a second focus learn will cause a dark line to appear on the plate. The error message 16072: “Plate rejected because it was cancelled too late in the imaging sequence” will indicate this condition.

    • retraces cause image artifacts, so are not allowed. Currently, imaging will be completed, then the machine will suspend with a warning message indicating that retraces occurred. This lets the operator know that the plate is probably not usable.

For such a media, the new parameter media slf (stray_light_fogging) should be set to 1 to put into place these extra checks.
