Thermal2 Command
(requires ENG access)
bbs level <offset> [nocal]

Variables offset Specifies the pixel pair for level calibration from 0 to 238.

Description Calculate the pulse height for the pixel pair at all pixel levels. The beam-balance calculates the required stroke profile by adjusting the pixel levels. The monitor command bbs level <offset> [nocal] can be used to determine the relationship between pixel levels and pulse heights ( it's not linear ). The performance of the beam-balance can be improved by determining and compensating for the relationship between pixel levels and pulse heights.

The automatic beam-balance sensor configuration sets the pixel pair in the center of the stroke to provide a pixel power of 1000 counts at the maximum pixel level. If required ( for development purposes only ), the automatic beam-balance sensor configuration can be disabled by the optional token nocal. Note that the sensor selection will always be set for high gain by the level profile.

Note that the level profile will close the shutter. However, the level profile will not configure the laser diode driver, beam-pointing driver or light valve driver.

Notes Thermal 1.0 / 1.7x equivalents:
  • The monitor command bbs level <offset> [nocal] does not have an equivalent.
