Service Information Either the monitor command bbs shutter (open|close) or an internal API function attempted to close the beam-balance shutter. This error indicates that the beam-balance shutter could not be closed. The host ( holding the beam-balance shutter open ) is the only reason that the beam-balance shutter cannot be closed.

Operator Action Close the shutter through the host.

  • The host is preventing the beam-balance shutter from being closed.

Troubleshooting information

Possible cause

  

This indicates that the shutter could not be closed. Both the Host and the head control the shutter, and in this case, the host may be holding the shutter open or closed.

Note: If this error appears on a Trendsetter NEWS 200 with MCE controlled release V2.3, it is due to a bug in the firmware. Refer to the related Troubleshooting item.

Suggested action

  
  1. Turn on verbose for BBS.
  2. Check for other error messages (the shutter may be held by the host).
  3. Type the command:
    bbs info
