The proportional gain of the power PID control loop of the laser diode driver. Changes to this parameter take affect when the control mode of the laser diode driver is set to "Power" or "Retrace". If the control mode of the laser diode driver is already "Power" or "Retrace", then this parameter takes affect immediately.

| The laser diode driver has implemented a calibrate and power PID control loop. The calibrate PID control loop initially sets the laser power using the beam-balance sensor. After the laser power has initially been set using the beam-balance sensor, the M8 sensor is read to determine the power sample corresponding to the desired laser power. The power PID control loop then maintains the laser power using the M8 sensor. Note that the M8 sensor is not calibrated to provide laser power.
