Product |
All water-cooled thermal heads
Component |
Coolant, chiller |
Symptoms |
The coolant in the chiller reservoir is clear. | ||
Cause |
Typically, the coolant is clear and without the dye coloring, it could easily be confused with water. Therefore, the coolant is colored with pink, green, or yellow dyes to avoid dangerous situations where the coolant can be confused for water. Over time the dye will fade, until eventually, the coolant is again completely clear. This does not indicate any change in the viscosity, anti-corrosion agents, or any of the other properties of the liquid coolant. Therefore, the coolant does not require replacing because the color is clear. |
