Safety alert for field engineers: Fan box electrical hazard on TS3 Spectrum and Proofsetter devices

This safety alert is to advise you of a possible hazardous situation when replacing the vacuum pump filters in a Trendsetter Spectrum (TS3) or Proofsetter Spectrum device. To access the vacuum pump, you must remove the sheet metal cover that holds the cooling fan. During removal, there is a risk that the insulation of the electrical wires may be damaged by the sharp edge of the cover. A service engineer received a serious shock in this situation. This safety alert is to advise you of a hazardous situation that can arise on GMCE or TMCE Kodak® Trendsetter® Autoloader or NEWS™ devices if you work on the picker assembly in the up position while the safety interlock override (SIO) key switch is in the Interlock Override position. Under certain circumstances, the picker will move down forcefully after a two-minute timeout, potentially causing injury to any body parts in its path. Due to budget constraints in 2007 we have had to make a tough decision to delay the TechPlanet to Documentum migration project to 2008. We'll use the rest of 2007 to investigate the migration in detail and continue to work on smaller activities to improve both TechPlanet and eCentral.

This is a difficult decision for everyone and although it represents a setback, it will allow us to continue with a phased approach, pilot XML authoring in small groups, and investigate the options for a successful rollout of component based single sourcing in the future.
