Command: plot edge

Description:

plot edge

Searches for the edge of the plate, without imaging the plate.

If the mode NVS parameter "edge" is set to 0, the carriage moves to where it would normally start seeking, but does not seek.

To check the edge detection in the same mode as is being used for plotting, first specifically change the mode using the "mode <N>" command, then do a plot edge.

plot edge cal

Calibrates the recorder for edge detection by positioning the autofocus laser beam over the approximate edge of the plate. If the plate is properly sized and centered on the drum, the laser spot should be less than 1 mm away from the edge of the plate.

To bring the spot within 1 mm from the edge of the plate, adjust the carriage NVS parameter "cph", or use the command "plot edge cal cph". Save the parameter with the command "nvs save carriage".

plot edge cal off

Calibrates the recorder for edge detection while the autofocus laser beam is off the plate, but over the edge detect strip. The calibration value is stored in the head NVS parameter "offthresh". The calibration value must be saved using the command "nvs save head".

plot edge cal on

Calibrates the recorder for edge detection while the autofocus laser beam is on the plate. The calibration value is stored in the head NVS parameter "onthresh". The calibration value must be saved using the command "nvs save head".

plot edge cal cph

Calibrates the carriage NVS parameter "cph". The calibration value must be saved using the command "nvs save carriage".

Used for integration.
