Overview

A film loading cycle is performed with Imagesetter doors open in order to provide a brief physical brief check of the Imagesetter.

Attention: In order for the Imagesetter to operate with its doors open, you will need to ensure that the interlock system is defeated.

In the event of Imagesetter malfunction during this check, refer to Running Imagesetter Diagnostics.

Carriage Motion

Ensure that the dynamic optmechanical carriage moves freely and is correctly calibrated.

1. On the Imagesetter control panel, press Util. The Utilities screen will appear.
2. Select Machine. The Machine options menu appears.
3. Select Carriage and press <Enter>.
4. Select Move to End Position and press <Enter>. The carriage will be moved to its end position. When movement is complete, the message PASS should appear at the extreme right of the data line at the bottom of the monitor.
5. Return to the Machine options menu once again. Select Carriage and press <Enter>.
6. Select Calibrate Home Position and press <Enter>. The carriage will return to its home position. When calibration is complete, the message PASS should appear at the extreme right of the data line at the bottom of the monitor.

Spinner

Ensure that the spinner is operating according to required specifications.

1. From the Utilities screen select Machine. The Machine options menu appears.
2. Select Spinner and press <Enter>.
3. Select Start Spin and press <Enter> The spinner will begin spinning. The message PASS should appear at the extreme right of the data line at the bottom of the monitor.
4. Return to the Machine options menu once again. Select Spinner and press <Enter>.
5. Select Stop Spin and press <Enter> The spinner will stop spinning. The message PASS should appear at the extreme right of the data line at the bottom of the monitor.

Laser

Ensure that the laser is operating according to required specifications.

1. From the Utilities screen select Machine. The Machine options menu appears.
2. Select Laser and press <Enter>.
3. Select Create NDF Graph and press <Enter> The Imagesetter will activate the laser and perform a series of programmed steps in order to create an analytical graph.

The laser light is active with access doors open during this step. Take the appropriate precautionary measures to protect both yourself and others in the Imagesetter installation area.

Immediately following these programmed steps, the graph will be displayed, showing laser intensity.

4. To exit the graph, press <Enter>.
