This procedure is aimed to help in the aligning calibration
of the bar punch.
Before starting this procedure make sure that the width ( W )
start exposure parameter in the machine is 35. It is in "SETUP" --> Service
--> Plotter setting
Make sure that the pivot parameters are H=360 , W=20.
( "SETUP"--> Service --> Punch Setting and in your punch system).
Create Grid with the size: W=540 , H= ( Film width - 22 ). For
example if the film width is 736 the H will be 714.
In the expose dialogue set: Markers to YES and Punch to YES.
Expose One separation.
This should result in all the grid with markers and punched
holes. If it does not please change the Height and the Width in the "START
EXPOSE"\
After the full grid plus the markers was achieved , change in
the expose format in the punch section from YES to the punch system that was define in the
machine punch setting
Example: If you choose the Stoesser punch system ( 1 ), you have to
choose in the punch formats system number 1 .
Make sure that in the punch format:
the alignment will be set to ML ( If it is not so not all the
full image will appear ).
choose the available punch system which was defined in the
machine.
Set the offsets to 0,0 , Save&exit the format and expose
the grid.
At this point in the procedure we need to get all the images
with the markers on the film. In order to achieve this the punch offsets in the Punch
Format need to be changed.
Example: If the grid needs to be moved up by 4mm and left by 2mm add 4mm to the W and
reduce the H by 2mm.
After the full image was achieved you can set the offsets in
the punch format to 0,0 by changing the pivot position in the machine. Do this by adding
the offsets values to the pivot values in the machine.
Example: Offsets in the punch format H=2, W=12 , Pivot parameter in the machine are H=360,
W=20.
Change the offsets in the punch format to W=0, H=0 and in the machine the pivot parameters
will be changed to H=362, W=32.
To make the final alignment, set the pivot to be in the center
of the image height. Expose two grids with the align to punch function. Place the two
films, emulsion to emulsion, and then change the height offset by the difference between
the two divided to 2.
