Caution: The Kit Side Punch is intended to be installed
in the field only by CreoScitex Engineers. For safety reasons, field installation
of the punch by the customer or by other unqualified engineers is strictly forbidden!!!
Make sure that the punch kit contains all the needed parts:
- Side punches according to the customer order
- Punch cutouts collector basket and vacuum pump
- Short and long tunnels
Power off the Imagesetter.
Assembling the Vacuum Tunnels
Assemble the short and long vacuum tunnels on the left side of the drum using the thumb
screws. Use 3 screws for each tunnel. You can use any hole for the thumb screws because
this is a temporary installation.
Attach the calibration ruler ( Inch or millimeter ) to the
vacuum tunnels.
Install the center side punch according to the ruler.
( This position can be adjusted later or the width margin can be set to the correct place
).
If one of the thumb screws prevent this location move it to the nearest hole.
Install the vacuum pump assembly to the left flange using the
two screws.
Plug in the M-Board cable and plug in the flat cable to the
center punch.
Check the Punch Position
- Setup the installed punch to be active punch and expose a grid with punching.
- Check the position of the punched hole.
- Adjust the punch or the offset in order to get the correct punch position .
Install all the punches according to the needed distance from
the center punch. ( The side punches should be setup according to the electronic setup
instructions )
- Activate the all the punches and check each punch position.
- If adjustments are needed the side punch unit must be adjusted.
( The accuracy position in the adjusted direction is +/- 0.02 mm )
Assemble the Punch soft vacuum tunnel and the vacuum hose.
Continue with the electronic setup ( Punch system, Punch name,
Pivot and offsets ).
