Sometimes when the carriage moves to the end position the chain can cause it to be lifted from the V block. This can cause registration problems.
In order to prevent this the following procedure was checked and implemented in Production. It can be implemented very easily in the field.
Each chain link is blocked from being rotated to the other side by a small tooth on the top of each link.
Locate the fourth link from the dynamic optics, cut the tooth and remove the link cover so the link will be able to rotate to the other side as well. This will "brake" the chain and near the end position it will stay on the V block without any tension.
