Installation
There is a difference in the format of information files contained
in the Software Machine Parameters for Dolev800 V2 and Dolev800 V3.
Installing version 1.060 over version 1.034 changes the old save format to the
new save format. Follow these instructions to ensure the smooth transition to
version 1.060.
Verify that the existing version (1.034 or earlier) is working properly.
Save all parameters to a
Software Machine Parameters
(501V1M353) diskette. (This diskette is effective
for versions earlier than 1.034, and is necessary if you want to reinstall
the earlier version.
Write down all the machine parameters on paper.
Install the new software.
On the first startup, a fatal error appears. Ignore it.
Manually enter the machine parameters.
Save all the parameters to a new
Software Machine Parameters diskette (this diskette will be effective for
versions 1.060 and later).
Notes
To return to an earlier version, delete the contents of the Setup
directory under C:\PLOT, and then install the rescue diskette
to restore all previous parameters.
In the res intensity tables, resolution 40 becomes
resolution 50. Versions 1.060 and later do not allow you to set a resolution
of less then 50, as described in the spec, so correct the
tables as required.
Confirm that the Roller Offset parameter
is correct, and update it in Machine Settings>Offsets>Roller
if required.
In the Service Utilities menu, Expose Group is currently not
applicable. (This applies to all Dolev models)
