FSB 257 RUNNING DIAGNOSTICS ON DOLEV 800 VIA THE NOTEBOOK DELL

Overview

From the several possibilities of running diagnostics on Dolev 800, the Notebook Dell is the most handy one. It needs no special equipment except your Notebook Dell, which is now available for most of the engineers.

Tools you need

a. Notebook Dell (or else with windows application)
b. Diagnostics diskette ver. 1.05B or up (which comes
with the Dolev 800)
c. Notebook - Dolev 800 cable RS232 cat no. 504G34023
(which comes with the Dolev 800).

Setting up the Notebook for the first time

1. Start up the Notebook by switching on the power.
   
2. Wait until you get prompt C on screen "C:"
   
3. Insert diag diskettes into the floppy disk in the Notebook and change the (Check that the diskettte is W/Write enable flag)
   
4. Type "set up"
   
5. To the question, "Choose the config. Option: ", choose "w" for windows.
   
6. The computer will guide you from this point. Connect standard controller (com 1 on the CPU board) and the Notebook (com 1 the serial port) with the cables.
   
7. Put the diagnostics diskette in the Dolev 800 floppy disk and start up the Dolev 800 (if the Dolev 800 was "on" switch if "off" and wait 30 sec. and then start it again).
   
8. In a few minutes you should be in the diagnostic menu. Good luck with solving your problem.

Re-running the Diagnostics for Dolev800

The following steps are for re-running the diagnostics for Dolev 800 on a Notebook:

1. Connect the standard controller com 1 (on the CPU board) and the com 1 serial port (on the Notebook) with the Notebook Dolev 800 cable.
   
2. Turn on the Notebook.
   
3. After getting C: prompt, type WIN\DOLEV 800\DIAG\DIAG_WIN
   
4. Insert the diagnostics diskette into the Dolev 800-floppy disk and activate the power of the Dolev 800.
   
5. After a few minutes the diagnostics menu will appear on the screen - good luck with solving your problem!
