Dolev 800P - FSB 327 - Loading Cassettes Status (Also Dolev 800P)

New Film Carrier Flange

The purpose of this FSB is to describe the compatibility of the loading cassettes of Dolev 800 family, to work with system version 4 using cassette NVM.

1. TYPES OF LOADING CASSETTES

1.1 First 5 plotters - S/N 11001 ÷ 11005

The first 5 plotters were supplied without the loading cassettes board assy (cat.no.503A30123), without their connector boxes (cat.no.270E33100) and the cassette magnets (cat.no.315D11030). Also there were no electrical preparations in the loading/unloading system assy, such as 3 loading adaptors (cat.no.503A30124), two connector covers (cat.no.280B30341), connector bases (cat.no.280B30340) and flat cable (cat.no.504F29754).

1.2 Plotters S/N 11005 ÷ 11070

The loading cassettes of these plotters have been supplied without the loading cassette boards assy and their connector boxes, and without the cassette magnet.

The loading/unloading system assy of these plotters have all the required electrical preparations to work with the cassettes NVM except for the first 30 plotters which were supplied without the (flat) cable that is connected to the
three loading adaptors in the loading/unloading system assy. The cable cat.no. is 504F29754 (flat 10 rec x 3 to 9P D-type). Therefore, in these plotters an FCO will be required to upgrade the cassette and the loading/unloading assy to work with S/W version 4 and up.

Note: In some of the first Dolev 800 plotters, which were supplied with a cassette board assembly, the connector of the board was not good. In these cases,
all the pins of the connector were of the same height, which caused a damage to the board due to the cases where the signals to the board appear before
the power. In these cases, the cassette board assembly should be replaced (the power pins in the connector of the existing type are higher than the other pins).

1.3 Plotters S/N 11070 ÷ 11095

These plotters have been supplied with all the required preparations to work with the cassettes NVM by H/W means on the loading cassettes and also on the plotter loading/unloading system assy.

1.4 Dolev 800P - S/N 11151 and up

These are Dolev 800P plotters which are compatible to work with punch. In these plotters a new type of cassettes were used because of the need to switch between the locations of the small cassette and the medium cassette.

The cassettes cat.no. are:

• Large cassette (#1) -    289B35562
• Medium cassette (#2) -    285B35561
• Small cassette (#3) -    283B35560

These cassettes and plotters are fully prepared to work with cassette NVM.

Note: There is no possibility to switch between the old type of cassettes for Dolev 800 and the new type for punch.

2. New Film Carrier II

A new film carrier assy for Dolev 800/800P cassettes have been produced.
FCO 17782 is required to replace the old film carrier assy with the new type.

The new film carrier assy cat. nos. are:

1)  Large film carrier II - 507C30877A
2)  Medium film carrier II - 507C33097A
3)  Small film carrier II - 507C33098A

The advantage of the new film carrier assy is a good gripping of the film roller to avoid any slipping between the flange and the film roller. Eliminating the film slipping is crucial because the rotation of the flange (with the 4 magnets) indicates that there is a film in the cassette and vice-versa. Therefore, the new type of film carrier will eliminate the cases of a false error message "End of Film" due to the slipping of the film roll on the film carrier while loading a film.

Important Notes:

1. FCO 17782 is a mandatory FCO, which requires to upgrade all Dolev 800/800P plotters with the new film carrier.
2. As from plotter S/N 11250 and up, all the loading cassettes will be supplied with the new film carrier.

   The cat.nos. for those cassettes are:

• 289B35562B #1 (large)
• 285B35561A #2 (medium)
• 283B35560A #3 (small)
  
  
3. It is recommended to check before performing FCO 17782 whether the plotter also requires a FCO kit for upgrading the loading cassette and the loading and unloading system assy to work with cassette NVM boards. If positive, it's preferable to perform both FCO's at the same time.
