Symptoms

  

Settings in BIOS cannot be changed.

Cause

   BIOS is locked in the state Cannot read A drive for no apparent reason.

Solution

  
  1. Unzip the bios058.zip file, and then copy the files to a bootable diskette.
  2. Insert the bootable diskette and reboot from it.
  3. Run one of the following
    • BURN1.BAT
    • BURN2.BAT
  4. If, after each shutdown, all BIOS settings disappear, then update the settings after you make any changes to the BIOS.
    SECURE CMOS SETUP>INSIDE UTILITIES>UPDATE
    The BIOS treats your settings as a CMOS security copy and loads them automatically at each reboot.
