Description

The purpose of this FCO is to solve intermittent misregistration problems resulting from an improper short pin assembly, which caused the short pins to be at a non-perpendicular angle with the base bracket.

  1. Reason For Change

Due to one non-perpendicular short pin in the machine, intermittent misregistration was occurring. We mechanically redesigned the short pin to insure a 90-degree angle between the short pin and the base.

Note: The visual difference between the two shortcut pin versions is the screwdriver slot on top of the pin, which does not exist on version 2.

  2. Description of Change
Replacing the old short pins with the newly designed short pins.

  3. Change Procedure

    1. From the application, open the front door.
    2. Disconnect the wiring to the Short Pins.
    3. Disassemble the Short Pins Assembly from the Punch Beam.
    4. Assemble the new Short Pins Assembly, P/N 507A3E860.
    5. Reconnect the wiring to the Short Pins.

  4. Test Procedure

    1. Load plates of different sizes and thicknesses, and check for good attachment to the pins on the drum.
    2. Close the front door.
    3. Send a job from the Brisque and develop it.
    4. Check the image parallelism.
