The following is a summery of recent information about Lotem 400 problems and solutions :
Lotem 400
DDB Put & Get Error > solved by the new DDB-WCS.HEX file (included in
Patch 2).
DDB Returned Illegal Buffer Length (OpCode 83) > solved by the new DDB Flex files (included in Patch 2).
Edge Detection not stable > Change Strip 2 Lower limit Value to be One (1)
mm smaller then current value in the registry (under Edge Detection System)
Cleaning the Lens is always the first step for accurate Edge Detection.
Unload Roller does not stop in same time as with Drum motor during Unload > Install new Unload Script (included in Patch 2).
Misregistration along Lead Screw of 1-2 mm > Adjust the Carriage Motor Fine
HP (see for procedure)
Misregistration along Lead Screw of 3-8 mm > Edge detection fine tune as
it sees the plate edge in wrong location , edge plate might be bend .
Brisque aborts job after some percent , Lotem still waiting for data with many
(> 200) Stop Spirals > Load UPD 1.35 and also new pltCD file on
Brisque (available on FTP server see newsletter).
Plate attachment problem > Vacuum pump has a filter which on old Lotem may
get clogged and will reduce the amount of Vacuum - should be replaced every
5000 working hr (once a year) P/N 342A10090.
Yellow separation at Conventional Angle (90 deg) gives vertical black lines > use VX screen sets , where the Yellow separation will be exposed at 120 deg.
During Unload small plate will not slide correctly on the Unload Tray with
error message "Plate Stuck on Drum" > the Unload Arm that should
push the plate down is
not moving low enough , close the Air Pressure and push it down so that the
green rubber ring will go down few more millimeters.
Plate size 740 mm along the drum will not load from time to time under the
Head Grippers > the corners of the Plate are hitting the HORIZONTAL vacuum
tunnel which is on the drum edges , file the tunnel edges to be smooth so it
will let the plate slide correctly under the Grippers.
Lotem 400 w/ MCU Only -(all previous problems may be seen also on VA).
After U/G to VA Local 3 bd give Put & Get > Force Downloading and Restart
Lotem , if still problem verify that you are connecting on COM2 on the CPU
(not the RS 232 near the Monitor connector) .
Centering Motor task hangs or give time out error > Install new Loading scripts (included in Patch 2).
Plate is pushed to Punch but at same time is hold by Centering pins > Install
new Loading scripts (included in Patch 2) , change back Centering system parameters
(Wait Distance =20 and Min Plate Height size for centering Wait distance =751).
Misregistration around the drum > Remove the Left Laser Cover (near the drum ) as the Loading system chain is hitting it during the Load To Drum .
