Omron Interlocks

Starting with machine S/N 0251-124288/01, all Lotem 400 Fiber Head and Quantum machines have the same mainframe and Omron interlocks. (See Omron electrical diagrams.)

Omron interlock system cheater and defeater locations 

The Lotem 400 Fiber Head and Quantum contain a mechanical interlock on the left back side of the machine (facing the back), as shown below.

All other interlocks are Omron interlocks. To operate mechanical components or assemblies with the doors open, defeat the mechanical interlock by inserting a cheater, as shown below.

Quantum

The Lotem 400 Quantum contains a focus laser interlock on the right back side of the machine (facing the back), as shown below. To operate the focus laser with the doors open, defeat the focus laser interlock by inserting a cheater.

MCU

When the Lotem 400 Fiber Head Omron or Quantum configuration includes the MCU,

• if the MCU doors are closed, defeat only the mechanical interlock (as shown in the Omron interlock system cheater and defeater locations section).
• if the MCU doors are open, insert an additional mechanical cheater (as shown below).
  

The Lotem 400 Omron differs from the Lotem 400 in the following:

• Distribution box—contains the interlock board 2 (503C2L971).
• Software version—1.50.08 with the Omron patch or version 1.60.07 and higher.
• Harness—contains two additional short detectors:
• Small plates—for automatic detection of small plates (not yet supported)
• MCU—supports MCU interlocks with connection to Lotem 400 Omron machine
