Background

This procedure describes how to update the Lotem 400 S speed to V speed.

12 LDD boards

Procedure

Warning: Be sure to put on an antistatic band before you begin this procedure.

Updating the hardware:

1. To enable access to the L-box, open the platesetter's left side door.
2. Exit Controller and shut down the platesetter.
3. On the L-box exterior, turn the power switch to OFF.
4. With a cross-head screwdriver, open the L-box door.
5. Under the row of 12 LDD boards, add the 12 additional LDD2 boards, as follows:
1. Gently insert the LDD2 board until you hear it click into place. Make sure not to damage any fibers.
2. Connect the black and red LDD2 power cable.
3. Repeat steps a and b for each board.
6. Close the L-box door and fasten it with the cross-head screws.
7. On the L-box exterior, turn the power switch to ON.
8. Turn on the platesetter.
9. Start Controller.

Updating the software:

1. In the hardware tree, select Others > Lotem 400V, right-click Properties, and then double-click Expose.
2. Change the Default Last Laser Number parameter from 11 to 23.
3. In the hardware tree, select Expose System > Laser System and double-click Laser Group.
4. Change the Last Laser Active parameter from 11 to 23.
5. Repeat step 4 for the Last Expose Laser Active parameter.
