Punch holes location conflicts with drum pins location

Symptoms

After installing a device at a customer site, during testing, the location of the punch holes conflicts with location of drum registration pins.

Requirements

If your configuration is Lotem 400 small and the conflict involves small plates (inner registration pins) you will need the following jigs:

For 205 or 247 mm

For 195 or 226 mm

Solution

Install new head spoilers to solve the conflict between the drum registration pins and punch holes on the plate. All spoilers can be replaced on site.

Small plates (GTO inner pins position)

Punch pitch 211 or 241 mm

If you require 211 or 241 pitch, use the spoilers that are shipped with the machine.

211 is the original pitch (290B7B955A, 290B7B956A)

To resolve conflicts, swap the positions of the existing left and right spoilers.

241 Swapped Pitch (290B7B956A, 290B7B955A)

If any conflicts exist after you swap the positions of the left and right spoilers, install new spoilers (see 205/247 or 195/226).

Punch pitch 205 or 247 mm

Order the following spoilers:

252-02936A Head winshield - 3R (205-247)
252-02937A Head winshield - 3L (205-247)

Install the new spoilers at the required pitch (205 or 247).

247 Pitch ( 252-02936A , 252-02937A )

205 Pitch ( 252-02937A , 252-02936A )

These spoilers require proper grooves on the drum.
If required, drill a groove with the jigs (see the Requirements section).

Punch pitch 195 or 226 mm

Order the following spoilers:

252-07225A Head windshield - 3L
252-07226A Head windshield - 3R

Install the new spoilers at the required pitch (195 or 226).

These spoilers require proper grooves on the drum.
If required, drill a groove with the jigs (see the Requirements section).

Large plates (outer pins position)

Punch pitch 404.5 or 540.5 mm

If you require 405.5 or 540.5 mm pitch, you can use the spoilers that are shipped with the machine.

404.5 Original pitch (290B7B954A, 291B7B952A)

To resolve conflicts, swap the positions of the existing left and right spoilers.

540.5 Swapped Pitch (290B7B954A, 291B7B952A)

If neither of these two options resolves the conflict, order spoilers for 472.5 pitch, see following.

If the conflict persists, order new spoilers, part number 252-00274A (x2), with the registration pin in the middle.

Inner (GTO) pin position

220 is the original pitch (290A8L448A, 290A8L449A)

Order new spoilers, part numbers 507C3E316 and 507C3E315.

Install the new spoilers at either 188 or 144 pitch, as required.

If any conflicts exists after you install the new spoilers, swap the positions of the new left and right spoilers.

Outer (large) pin position

540 is the original pitch (290A8L444A ,291B2R946A)

To resolve conflicts, swap the positions of the existing left and right spoilers.

414 Swapped Pitch (290A8L444A ,291B2R946A)

If the conflict persists, order new spoilers, part number 507C3E314 (x2), with the registration pin in the middle.
