Stop spiral is performed repeatedly on Lotem 400 Xpose

Product

Kodak® Lotem® 400 Xpose™ platesetter

Symptoms

During data transfer, the carriage repeatedly executes a stop spiral command.

Each time the carriage completes the stop spiral command, it returns to the same position where the stop spiral command occurred and waits to receive data. If the data is still not available, the carriage repeats the stop spiral command until the data is ready or a time-out error appears.

Cause

  • The expose process is aborted.
  • The platesetter cannot perform imaging.

Solution

  1. Verify that the cable connection between the L-box and the TSP board is properly secured.
  2. Verify that all the pins on the TSP cable adaptor are not bent or damaged. If they are bent or damaged, replace the TSP cable.
  3. Replace the strobe board.
  4. Replace the MCF board.
  5. Replace the TSP board.
  6. Reinstall the following software:
    • Image CD
    • BIOS
  7. Replace the DDB board.
  8. Replace the hard drive.
  9. Replace the E-box.
