MCF-related error messages appear on Lotem 400/800

Product

  • Lotem® 400
  • Lotem 400 Xpose
  • Lotem 800

Component

MCF board revision A

Error

MCF-related error message(s)

Symptoms

Drum runaway may or may not accompany the MCF-related error message.

Cause

When the power supply drops below 4.8 V, the MCF board resets, which causes the Xilinx and Register to be reset. This disrupts the communication between the MCF board and the drum.

Solution

The resistor R145 (1 kohm) on MCF board revision A was replaced with a 0 ohm resistor.
MCF boards (revision A) that have this change have a sticker that says“Eco # IL04303 implemented”.

  1. Recalibrate the power supply to MCF Rev A to work with 5.1–5.2 V.
  2. Repeat the task that produced the error message. If the error message appears again, continue with step 3.
  3. Remove the MCF board.
  4. Install an MCF board that has the sticker indicating that ECO IL04303 is implemented.
