MCU for Lotem^® 400 family

Symptoms

The MCU does not switch automatically from one cassette to another when 2 or 3 cassettes contain the same size plates, even when the jobs specify the same plate name.

Cause

To switch automatically from one cassette to the other, the MCU must finish loading all the plates in one cassette so that the counter is 0. When the counter is 0, the XY bar enters the cassette to remove the last piece of paper.

If there is a piece of cardboard under the plate, the XY bar treats it as paper, but cannot pick up the cardboard to dispose of it. The task fails, which stops the progression of the queue.

Solution

• Verify that the same media names are set for each relevant cassette.
• If you use a piece of cardboard on the bottom of the cassette, add a piece of paper between the cardboard and the last plate.
• It is recommended to define the number of plates loaded in the Media Definitions dialog box as one less than the real quantity. This causes the MCU to switch to the next cassette before it reaches the last plate in the current cassette.
