Drum is in error state appears when the data transfer on a Lotem 400 Quantum platesetter times out

Product

  Kodak® Lotem® 400 Quantum platesetter

Error

Drum is in error state

Symptoms

When a job is sent to a Lotem 400 Quantum platesetter, the platesetter stops operating because the data transfer times out, and an error message appears.

Solution

To resolve this problem, perform the following series of checks:

  • Run diagnostics.
  • Check the wiring that controls the drum-command paths.
  • Verify that the Inhibit LED is always on when the drum driver error appears.
  • Verify that drum movment is not obstructed.
  • Check whether the head grippers are pressed against the rollers. If they are, lower the value of the IO OBJECTS\Loading System\Drum\Unload Gripper Actuator To Unload Tray (mm) parameter to 250.
  • Reload the defaut NVS and Flash files on TMCE.
  • Replace the drum driver and D-box.
