Gabi Ra’anan
August 20, 2000

Description

Isolating the internal wires of  drum encoder connector

  1. Reason For Change

Prevent possible lose of drum speed control due to short circuit of wires.

  2. Description of Change

Isolating inner wires inside connector to MCF board.

  3. Change Procedure

    1. Open side door, shut machine main power off and disconnect encoder Connector from MCF board.

    2. Open connector, remove copper tape and slip rubber fitting down along Cable [Pic. # 2721]

    3. Expose 2 cm of inner wires by carefully removing outer (black) isolation.

    4. Peel down shielding wires and free all cut wires. Insert a 1.5cm piece of shrinking isolation on all cut wires and heat to shrink, or apply isolating tape).[Pic. # 2722]

    5. Wrap shielding wires around rubber fitting and apply copper tape. (This is important for good grounding of the encoder ) [Pic. # 2723].

    6. Fit all wires back into the connector and close with cover.

    7. Carefully insert connector back into MCF board and turn power on.

  4. Test Procedure

    1. Run drum manually in low speed to verify speed control.
    2. Expose to verify speed control in high speed.
