Field Change Order #24856 - Paper Air Outside the Cassette

Sammy Avisror
February 25, 1999
Type of Change:
Conditional
Machine S/N:
Lower than 9826xxxx

Reason For Change

Problem in separating paper from plate (Horsell or Fuji) when plate is already out of cassette-due to static electricity.

Description of Change

Need to insert 2 compressed air injectors and connect to air hoses from manifold.   This procedure can only be performed if there is a manifold with 8 outlets already installed.  If the manifold contains only 7 outlets replace the manifold to one with 8 outlets that is included in this FCO.

Change Procedure

Air injector installation
  1. Drill two holes on the disposal housing in order to insert the injectors.

The hole size should be 12 mm or .5 inch. The first hole should be at distance of 70 mm from the paper detector. See picture arrow 1. The second hole should be at distance of 270 mm from the first hole. See arrow 2

Note: Before you drill the 12 mm hole start with smaller driller.

  2. Insert the air injectors in the holes.  Attach and tighten the nut below the injectors.
  3. Attach air hoses to each air injector and connect them to the T-junction hose.
  4. Attach Air valve unit to manifold base.  If you have a manifold with 7 outlets, replace with an 8-outlet manifold, attach with the FCO kit.
  5. Connect T-junction hose to the hose that will be connected to the new air valve unit.
Paper air connector

To install the connector for the Paper air please perform the following:

  1. Locate the cable that contain three connectors which two of them are for the 4 up 8 up plate.

Two connectors are already in use and connected to the Manifold .

The third connector is for the paper air that needs to be connected.

  2. To take out the connector from the cable you need carefully to cut the cable isolation so the connector will reach the manifold.
  3. Connect the connector to the new valve.
Registry Update
  1. Open the new valve in the registry – Go the registry / IO / Object / New Local / Solenoids / Cassette outside air valve / Change the open status from 0 to 1.
  2. Restart the application
  3. Go to the H/W / Loading System / Loading plate to drum / Solenoids valve /" Cassette outside air valve"/ open the detector

Test Procedure

Activate the "Cassette outside air valve" and see that it is working
