Reason For Change
To prevent plates from entering underneath the Centering Arms.
To avoid collisions between the loading system suction cups and the Centering
Arms on certain plate sizes.
To improve the reliability of the Cassette-Centering System.
Description of Change
Replace the existing cassette Centering Arms with the newly designed assembly.
Change Procedure
From the application, release the cassette.
Center a single plate with the Centering Arms.
Tighten the screws to secure the position of the plate.
Note: The following steps describe the process of removing
the old Centering Arms, and installing the new ones. Do not remove both at the
same time. Remove and install one, then remove and install the other. The left
and right Centering Arms are identical.
Remove one of the Centering Arms by removing the 2 Allen screws.
Install the new Centering Arm using the Allen screws that you removed
in step 4. Check that it touches the plate as the old Centering Arm did.
To adjust the Centering Arm, open the 2 Allen screws on its adjustable
edge.
Slide the adjustable edge down, making sure that it does not touch the
cassette surface.
Repeat steps 4-7 to replace the second Centering Arm.
An extender is required to center GTO plates, and to avoid collisions
between the loading system Suction Cups and the cassette Centering Arms
on certain plate sizes, for example, 510 mm and 525 mm. The new extender
has the same adjustable edge as the Centering Arm.
Note: The old extenders fit the new Centering Arm.
Upper Tray
In the upper tray, perform the same procedure as for the main compartment,
with the following exceptions:
Since the upper tray does not have tightening screws, it is recommended
to mark the Centering Arms location after centering the plate.
The upper tray does not have an adjustable edge.
The DCL Upper Arm and extender are shown below.
Test Procedure:
Load plates into the cassette.
Center the plates with the Centering System, and verify that the plates
do not enter underneath the Centering Arms.
Perform plate loading.
Verify that the Centering System in the Lotem does not move the plate,
to assure that the Cassette Centering system is synchronized with the
Machine Centering System.
