PROM Replacement Inside the Distribution Board

The following is the procedure for PROM replacement inside the Distribution Board.

The new PROM fixes the bug with the cassette pin lockers.

Problem:

As you know there are two pistons that activate two pins to secure and lock the loading cassette in place. These pins are activated when you activate cassette valve or cassette release from the Lotem PC

Occasionally when the loading cassette is not in the machine and the cassette pins activation reaches the time out , we have a malfunction with the cassette pins.

The work around was to abort the cassette valve from the task list.

Solution

  1. Turn off the Lotem
  2. In order to remove the Distribution board , you first need to remove the Laser relay board.
  3. Disconnect all the connectors that connect to the distribution board
  4. Remove the distribution board from the machine
  5. Check the revision number of the distribution board. The letter at the end of the part number A or B indicates the revision of the board. (most of the boards in the field are revision A)
  6. PROM replacement:

NOTE: Make sure that the dot on the PROM should face the arrow on the PROM socket

  1. Place the Distribution board inside the machine. (connect all the connectors)
  2. Turn On the Lotem, and open the Lotem application

Testing

  1. Click on the "Release cassette " icon from the Lotem PC
  2. Slide the loading cassette from the machine
  3. Wait till the cassettes pins reach time out, which mean that the cassette pins will go up
  4. Select "release cassette" icon from the PC to reactivate the cassette pins. This operation should work fine which indicate that the bug is fixed.

Note: We received feedback from the assembly line that rarely the cassette pins are vibrating during operation. This is not interrupting with the task. R&D are checking this issue.
