Replacing Individual Rollers and/or Clips

Prepared By: Dennis Kaliser
Date: January 2002

Rollers and clips may be replaced individually without removing the upper roller assembly. However, it takes a fair amount of dexterity to do so.
If you have to replace may rollers and clips, it is best to first remove the entire upper roller assembly. Follow the Drum System | Upper Roller Assembly | Replacement procedure.

Procedure

Note: This procedure is relevant to both lower and upper Roller Assemblies.

Replacing Rollers

  1. To replace a damaged roller, open the legs of the U-shaped spring clip.
Note that the spring clip is held in place by three small brackets.
  2. Keep clip open and insert new roller. Allow clip legs to spring together

Replacing Clips

  1. To remove a clip, first open and remove the roller. Then squeeze the clip center and lift it free of the two middle brackets. Push it back and away to free it from the rear clip. It is very easy to do when the assembly is out of the machine. When the assembly is still in the machine, You must carefully slip your fingers between the assembly and the drum to access the clip.
  1. Open the legs of the new clip. Position it into the three brackets. Spread the clip open. Insert the roller and allow the clip to close.
